Liverpool will position themselves for a move for Nicolas Pepe in the next few weeks, according to L’Equipe, via Get French Football News.
The Lille star looks set to be one of Europe’s most sought-after players this summer, following an eye-catching season for the Ligue 1 club.
The Reds are one of those to have been most strongly linked with signing the Ivorian, with his quality and pace out wide something that would add guaranteed depth to their attack.
Pepe will have a host of options to choose from, though, and Inter Milan have already tabled a €70million written offer for his services.
It looks highly likely that the 23-year-old will move on from Lille at the end of the season, having scored 20 goals in 35 appearances in 2018/19.
There does seem to be genuine interest from Liverpool, who have made a reputation for signing their first-choice transfer targets in recent times, from Virgil van Dijk to Alisson.
