Liverpool are still interested in signing Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, according to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, as translated by Sport Witness
Manchester City have apparently made the Brazilian their top defensive target as they look to improve their back line, which has let them down on numerous occasions this season.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side will apparently face competition for his signature from Liverpool.
Marca claim that Sevilla are willing to cash in on Carlos this summer as they are looking to bring in some funds to make up for the losses they’re about to face after missing out on qualification for the Champions League and they say The Reds are considering making a move.

There’s still a chance that Dejan Lovren leaves Liverpool this summer and if he does, then The Reds will either promote a young player to replace him in the first-team squad or go into the market for a replacement.
However, we doubt that Carlos will be signed as Liverpool don’t appear to be keen to spend big money this summer.
Furthermore, Carlos is likely to want to go somewhere where he’ll be a guaranteed first choice starter, like he almost certainly would be at City, whereas at Liverpool, he’d be battling with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip to be Virgil van Dijk’s partner at the back.
