Liverpool are still interested in signing Braga centre-back David Carmo this summer, according to Jornal de Notícias [via Sport Witness].
The Reds were linked with a January move for the 21-year-old, but they ended up bringing in Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies instead.
Since then, Carmo has suffered a horrific leg injury in a game against Porto, but that doesn’t appear to have put off Liverpool.
This latest report claims that Jurgen Klopp is still keen on making him a summer addition and he could end up becoming Braga’s biggest-ever sale in the process, eclipsing the €31million they sold Francisco Trincao to Barcelona for last year.

Given the nature of Carmo’s injury, it would be a huge risk to sign him, especially considering Liverpool’s other fitness woes at the back, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out for the rest of the season.
The Reds need to be signing someone with a good injury record who is ready to come in and be a reliable player immediately.
Carmo is undoubtedly a talented young defender, but there are plenty of other options out there that could make more sense, in that respect, considering what has cruelly happened to him recently.
