Liverpool remain keen on the idea of signing Kylian Mbappe next summer, according to L’Equipe [via Sport Witness].
The 22-year-old’s contract at Paris Saint-German expires at the end of the 2021/22 season, with no new deal signed yet.
Liverpool and Real Madrid have been the clubs strongly linked with a big-money move for Mbappe, with the La Liga giants arguably considered favourites to snap him up.
This latest report claims that the Reds are more confident as the months pass, however, and have been tracking him ‘for many years’.

Mbappe is a sensational talent – perhaps the most exciting young talent in the world, along with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
For that reason, it is hugely exciting to see Liverpool still reportedly in the mix to sign him, with his blistering speed, movement and quality in the final third tailor-made to thrive in Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Mbappe has a stunning record for PSG, scoring 104 goals in just 142 appearances, also chipping in with 57 assists.
The main stumbling block will be the Frenchman’s price tag, however, and Liverpool signing him would surely mean one of the current front-three leaving instead, in order to both generate funds and guarantee him regular playing time.
