Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of young centre back Matthijs de Ligt, with the Dutchman keen on a move to Bayern.
According to the Mirror, the 19-year-old has been linked with summer moves to a selection of clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Juventus.
Barcelona and Liverpool have also been heavily linked, with talk of the player following in the footsteps of his teammate Frenkie de Jong, who has agreed to join Barcelona.
It has also been revealed by Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, as cited by the Mirror, that de Ligt is keen on a move to Bayern Munich, leaders of the Bundesliga, claiming that this is the only move other than Barcelona the youngster would be interested in.
Although this is isn’t what Liverpool fans would want to hear, there are some pointers that may eventually persuade the Dutchman to make the move to Anfield.

De Ligt’s agent is said to have been informed that he is likely to get paid a lot more if they were to make a move to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Ajax’s youth team coach Ronald de Boer is pushing to get de Ligt a move to Liverpool.
While speaking to talkSPORT, as cited in the Mirror’s report, he made some valid points about the potential partnership between de Ligt and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk:
For me, and 19-year-old captain of Ajax, he is the guy who is also next to Virgil van Dijk with the national team, I mean he is so strong. So determined to be a winner. Unbelievable.
He can play in every team. If he goes to an attacking team or a defending team he can play in every team because he is so good.
