Liverpool target Patson Daka explains ‘special’ Anfield moment

Liverpool target Patson Daka has revealed playing at Anfield last season was a ‘special moment’ due to being a supporter of the Reds in an interview with 90min.

The 22-year-old RB Salzburg star admitted it was a dream come true to play at Anfield as the Austrian’s were beaten 4-3 by Jurgen Klopp’s men in the Champions League group stages.

Linked with a move to Merseyside for some time, the Zambian hailed the Reds as well as a former Anfield star.

He said: ”I’ve always been a fan of Liverpool and Barcelona. When we played Liverpool last season in the Champions League at Anfield, it was a very special moment. The other dream was to face Luis Suarez, he’s the one that impressed me the most. He has always been one of my inspirations since I was a kid. It was really special and I was able to exchange my jersey with him.”

Daka has an extraordinary record this term, bagging 20 goals in just 24 appearances including a goal per game in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Those numbers have unsurprisingly brought about plenty of speculation and the forward spoke of ‘flattering’ comparisons with Erling Braut Haaland.

Sign him up.

Daka’s goalscoring record this season is superb, and it won’t be long before a major European side snaps him up at this rate.

Klopp will be looking to add depth to his attacking options in the summer as the German looks to evolve his formidable front three and with time surely up on Divock Origi’s Liverpool career, Daka would be a major upgrade on the Belgian and the two fees wouldn’t be poles apart.
