Liverpool Team News: West Brom (A)

Liverpool are looking to put to bed any worries about missing out on a top four finish when they play West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams go into this game fresh off victories, and a win for Jurgen Klopp’s men will pretty much end any worries of Chelsea catching them, and could even put the pressure on second-placed Man United

The Baggies also know that win will boost their slim hopes of securing their Premier League status for next season.

West Brom have already beaten the Reds this season, winning their FA Cup meeting at Anfield, 3-2. The first league meeting which was also at Anfield, ended in a goalless draw.

The Reds will go into this game looking to avenge that loss in the last meeting and also build their momentum in preparations for the first leg meeting with AS Roma at Anfield, on Tuesday.

Team news

The return of defender Joe Gomez has boosted Klopp’s ability to rotate at the back.

Dejan Lovren’s withdrawal in the 3-0 home win against Bournemouth over the weekend, is believed to be a precaution and he trained as normal on Thursday.

However, Nathaniel Clyne won’t feature at the Hawthorns after picking up an injury.

The Reds will also be without long-term absentees Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Joel Matip.
