Liverpool will ‘try to sell’ Grujic for €20-30m after emergence of Jones

Liverpool will attempt to sell Marko Grujic this summer, according to Sportske [via Sport Witness].

The Serb is currently on loan at Porto, but he has only managed three Primeira Liga starts this season, struggling to make an impact.

This latest report states that Liverpool will ‘try to sell’ Grujic at the end of the season, with Jurgen Klopp seeing no future for him at the club.

Curtis Jones’ emergence is seen as a reason for not retaining the 24-year-old’s services and the Reds hope to earn between €20million and €30million for the midfielder.

Given the midfield depth at Klopp’s disposal, it is hard to see how Grujic has any kind of future at Liverpool.

He is about to turn 25, so is no longer a young player with potential, and there are too many superior options ahead of him in the pecking order.

Grujic needs to seal a permanent move away from Liverpool in order to kick on in his own career, settling at a new club and enjoying regular minutes.

He is a talented player who can do a good job elsewhere, but he isn’t at the level required to be a reliable squad player for the Premier League champions, making just two appearances since the start of the 2018/19 season, in all competitions.
