It has been widely reported that Napoli midfielder Jorginho is a summer transfer target for Liverpool but the Reds may end up missing out on his signature as Manchester City are said to be close to agreeing a deal for him.
According to Sam Lee of Goal, the Italian international is City’s preferred choice as they look for a new holding midfielder and the Premier League champions are willing to splash the cash to get him.

Lee reports that City are close to agreeing a fee, believed to be around £50m, with Napoli for the midfielder, so Liverpool will need to act quickly if they want to try and hijack any potential deal.
The Reds are in the market for a player who can play in the deepest role in their midfield as it looks certain that Emre Can will be moving on in the summer.
Jorginho is one of the names being touted for a move to Anfield but other players, such as Ruben Neves, are also said to be under consideration.
