Manchester City are planning a bid of £40m for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling according to numerous newspaper reports.
Chelsea are also thought to be keen to get involved in any sale of the England international.
The Reds are expected to tell Raheem Sterling he IS NOT for sale when he and the club hold talks within the next week.
The club’s owners look willing to play hard ball in this situation, as they did with Luis Suarez for a period of time, but who eventually left last year.
City are open to giving Sterling what he has requested at Liverpool, £150k per week. Liverpool, on the other hand, have only offered £90,000 a week, a significant shortfall from what other clubs would and could offer.
Liverpool are hoping an appeasement to Sterling, along with forward planning, and ample opportunity for their 20-year-old to play a big part will help persuade their player to consider staying on Merseyside.
The fact the club apparently pulled out of any Depay deal may also suggest they’re very keen to keep hold of their man.
