With Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert all looking likely to be departing Liverpool this summer, the Reds will be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements to bolster their squad.
With Danny Ings heavily linked with a move after his contract with Burnley expires, and Christian Benteke reportedly the main target for this summer’s window, another (yes, another!) striker has now been linked.
The player in question is ex-Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic. The Croat, according to Tuttomercadoweb, is keen on a move away from Atletico Madrid after joining them last summer.
Liverpool will reportedly face competition from Tottenham and Arsenal for the 29-year-old, who averaged a goal every other start in this season’s La Liga campaign.
Mandzukic has registered 20 goals and 5 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions this season, a record that is likely to spark interest from all around Europe should he become available in the upcoming window.
