New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants to bring his former Liverpool team-mate Martin Skrtel to his new club this summer, according to the Daily Record.
Gerrard faces a tough job in getting the club back to where they belong, but signing an experienced defender would be a great way to start.
Funds are set to be available for Gerrard to help him make a strong impact at the club as he looks to hit the ground running with the Scottish club.
Skrtel was a fans favourite during his time at Anfield due to his no-nonsense style of defending and commitment to the club.

The Liverpool legend’s decision to join the club was largely based around assurances that there will be money to spend at the club following his arrival.
Gary McAllister is set to join Gerrard as his number two as they attempt to close the gap with rivals Celtic following spell of dominance in Scotland for the Hoops.
