The centre-back travelled to Istanbul on Tuesday and completed a medical at the club on Wednesday afternoon.
Skrtel told Fenerbahce TV on Tuesday, “Obviously I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to tomorrow. I’ve known the Fenerbahce as a team and as a club already. Also, I spoke with Miroslav Stoch and he told me beautiful things about the club and the city. There were some offers from other clubs but as I said before to a newspaper, the offer from the Fenerbahce was very straight from the beginning. Fenerbahce is a massive club and for these reasons, I accepted this offer.
Skrtel had been a regular in the Reds back four since arriving in 2008, making 242 appearances and scoring 16 goals.
But the Slovakia captain had fell out of favour under current boss Jurgen Klopp and seemingly became surplus to requirements after the capture of Schalke’s Joel Matip.
Last season, he started just 13 games, with his highlight of the season being an impressive strike against Manchester City in a 4-1 thrashing at the Etihad Stadium.
