Athletic Club Bilbao’s Iker Muniain is looking increasingly likely to sign a new deal with the La Liga club, despite interest in his services.
According to a report from Marca, as cited on Sport Witness, Muniain is set to turn down interest in order to pen a new deal with Bilbao.
Liverpool had reportedly lodged an offer to sign the Spaniard, who has long been linked with moves away from Spain throughout his career.
The same report revealed that it was the player’s preference to stay in Spain, with the Reds always facing an uphill battle to try and sign him.

Napoli have also been credited with an interest in signing the player, with his contract at Bilbao expiring in the summer.
Muniain was very highly rated as he came through the ranks in La Liga, but has never managed to hit the heights that were expected of him due to injuries and problems he has suffered along the way.
