Feyenoord centre-back Ramon Hendriks claims Liverpool are his ‘preference’, should he move to the Premier League.
The 19-year-old is a current Netherlands Under-19 international, having won seven caps for them to date, and is on loan at NAC Breda.
Hendriks actually turned down the opportunity to join Liverpool when he was younger, instead deciding to stay put in his homeland.
Speaking to Voetbalzone [via Sport Witness], the teenager spoke about not joining the Reds, also hinting that he is eyeing up a move to Anfield one day:
It was a special time for me anyway. I was able to go to Ajax, to PSV, to Feyenoord, to Liverpool and a few other clubs. Very big names for a fifteen-year-old boy from Dordrecht.
That club (Feyenoord) just suits me best as a person. It was very difficult to say ‘no’ to Liverpool. I thought about the adventure but decided to choose a relatively surer path.
I think the toughness of the Premier League would suit me well, and Liverpool would, of course, have the preference.
I don’t think I would say ‘no’ again if they ever come forward for me, haha. For now, however, I first dream of a full stadium at NAC.

Hendriks could be a potential option for Liverpool to bring in this summer, should Klopp be looking at defensive reinforcements.
Much could depend on whether or not Ozan Kabak’s loan move becomes a permanent one, however, considering Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are already strong options, when fit.
It could be that Hendrik is viewed as more of a long-term acquisition, though, maturing in the academy and eventually progressing to being a regular in the squad.
