No Liverpool approach made yet for Wilfred Ndidi

Liverpool will be in the market for a midfield enforcer when the summer transfer window opens and Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi is a player that the club are reportedly keeping an eye on.

Reports surfaced recently that the Reds had made an approach to Ndidi to come and join the club in the summer, which he is believed to have consented to, leaving Liverpool with the task of agreeing a fee with the Foxes for the Nigerian.

However, fresh claims from sources close to the player suggest the contrary, stating that he is happy at Leicester and is not considering leaving the club. They also deny claims that Liverpool have made an approach to sign him.

Ndidi is happy at Leicester City, he is one hundred percent committed to Leicester City and it’s confirmed he’s not leaving the club to join Liverpool. Liverpool have not contacted him about joining the club.

Ndidi signed for Leicester from Genk in January 2017 and has helped fill the void left by N’Golo Kante the previous transfer window, making 57 appearances for the Foxes, scoring four times and is tied to the club until the summer of 2022.

Liverpool want a robust central midfielder to replace Emre Can who looks set to leave the club when his contract expires in June, with the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich leading the race for his signature. Both Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked in recent times.
