Liverpool have cancelled talks with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund over the departure of striker Divock Origi.
Goal journalist Neil Jones has tweeted that the Reds were willing to sell the 23-year-old permanently to the German club, but Dortmund were keen on a temporary switch.

The Belgian moved to Merseyside in the summer of 2014 in a deal worth a reported £10m from Lille.
Having been immediately loaned back to the French outfit for a season, Origi returned for the 2015/16 season but only managed 16 Premier League appearances, scoring five times.

He featured more heavily the following campaign, and scored seven goals and provided three assists in the same competition.
However, the forward failed to cement a first-team spot and spent last year on loan at Wolfsburg, scoring six times in all competitions.
Origi hasn’t featured in the matchday squad for either of the Reds’ two games this season, with manager Jurgen Klopp deploying Roberto Firmino through the middle and Daniel Sturridge taking a place on the bench.
It now seems likely that the player will be kept as a squad player until the January transfer window, where clubs may be more willing to part with their cash for the striker.
