Former Scotland international Pat Nevin has named Liverpool as the ideal future transfer move for Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi.
The 26-year-old has been a revelation north of the border since arriving in the summer from J1-League side Vissel Kobe.
A goalscoring hero from the Scottish League Cup final victory over Hibernian, Kyogo has been dubbed the ‘best striker’ in the country since Henrik Larsson.
Speaking to Football Scotland. Nevin claimed that the Japanese ace would be perfect for the Reds or their Premier League rivals.
There’s a lot of clubs that will be watching him right this second. I think he’d be best suited for a Liverpool or a Manchester City. He’d work really, really well there. I suspect he would probably have to take a step before he made that one. He would go to one of the other clubs lower down the table, similar to the way Van Dijk did. From Southampton to Liverpool.
The 58-year-old went on to suggest that teams ‘should be looking at the 12-cap international teammate of Takumi Minamino.
So far this season the man hailed as ‘sensational’ by Tam McManus has scored 16 times and provided five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £1.8million and under contract at Celtic until 2025 (Transfermarkt), mustering the funds to land Kyogo would be no issue for the Anfield club.
However, similar to the career path of Virgil van Dijk, the Reds would likely want to see the Japanese star thrive elsewhere in the league prior to making their swoop.
Immensely versatile and seemingly improving year on year, there is little doubting Kyogo is a player that would be of interest to Jurgen Klopp.
