Gini Wijnaldum will sign a new deal at Liverpool, according to former Tottenham midfielder Michael Brown.
The Dutchman has become a key man since arriving from Newcastle United in 2016, proving to be a key cog in the machine.
Wijnaldum is yet to commit to a new contract, however, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2021.
Speaking to Football Insider, Brown says he fully expects the 29-year-old to sign on the dotted line:
Would you want a player of his ability to be on a longer contract? Possibly, with two years.
You don’t really want anyone under two years, any of the players who have played regularly. Liverpool are in a great position, Wijnaldum will want to stay at Liverpool.
The tides are turning for Liverpool in that they don’t have to rush it so much as they would have a few years ago. Players will want to be at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp so they’ll get the deal done when they’re ready.

Wijnaldum may be turning 30 later this year, but I still believe it is imperative that he extends his stay at Anfield.
The Netherlands international is too important to let go in the near future, with his presence in the middle of the park so great for the Reds.
While he may not be a headline-maker in the way many Liverpool stars are, Wijnaldum brings balance, technical quality and endless running to the team. He also has the highest pass completion rate (90.9%) in the Premier League this season among Liverpool’s starters.
Wijnaldum has also played more minutes than any other midfield player, in a team that has dropped just five points in the league all season, suggesting Jurgen Klopp’s men excel when he is playing.
