Steven Gerrard has revealed he will make an offer for Ryan Kent this summer, but admits he is unlikely to be able to sign the winger permanently and will look to agree another loan deal with Liverpool.
According to the Daily Mail, Gerrard conceded he will not be able to match Liverpool’s reported valuation of £8million should the Reds look to offload Kent on a permanent deal this summer, and is slightly more confident of agreeing a loan extension.
The winger has been in fine form for Rangers during his loan spell under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, scoring six goals and assisting four so far this campaign.
And the Rangers boss revealed he will not give up on signing the 22-year-old this summer, despite a permanent deal being unlikely.
I won’t give hope of keeping Ryan until I see him in a different kit. If you speak to Ryan he will tell you that he’s happy, that he’s enjoying his football, the fans are really enjoying him. There are a lot of boxes ticked with him being at Rangers. Liverpool know that, Ryan and his people know that, and we certainly understand that.

All we can do is make sure we’re at the table – and we will be at the table. I think it would be unlikely to be a permanent move. I would be more confident about getting him back on a loan. If Liverpool wanted to sell him, that’s out of my hands. The figure being spoken about… I’m out.
Gerrard will be without one of his key men for Rangers’ next two games, with Kent being given a retrospective ban following his altercation with Scott Brown in the Glasgow Derby.
