Liverpool are set to announce the signing of Adam Bogdan from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer when his contract expires on 1st July, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds’ search for a new goalkeeper to challenge Simon Mignolet has seen them land on Bodgan, who impressed during the FA Cup tie between the two clubs earlier on in the season.
Neil Lennon had harboured hopes of keeping the 27-year-old Hungarian ‘keeper who turned in some impressive displays last season in the Championship, but with Liverpool making an approach, it was hard to see the player turning down the chance to join a Premier League team.
Liverpool’s scouting team have kept a close eye on the player, monitoring his progress as the season has gone on, and Rodgers has decided now is the time to bring the goalkeeper to Anfield.
This could be the third free signing of the summer for Liverpool, with James Milner already on board and the signing of Danny Ings set to be announced imminently.
In what could be seen as smart business, Rodgers has improved upon three positions in his squad having not spent anything on transfer fees, which may see the Reds look to make couple of more expensive, proven quality signings as the summer goes on.
