Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker have been shortlisted for UEFA’s best striker and goalkeeper of last season’s Champions League campaign respectively.
David Maddock of the Daily Mirror reports that Salah faces competition from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while Alisson will have to fend of Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Buffon.

Salah excelled in all competitions last season and played a crucial role as Liverpool progressed from the qualifiers to the final of the Champions League.

The Egyptian scored 11 times throughout the campaign, which ultimately ended in disappointment on a collective and personal level; the Reds lost out to Real Madrid in the final while Salah was forced off with a shoulder injury just 26 minutes in.
Alisson earnt his nomination as a Roma player, putting together a string of impressive displays which eventually caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazilian kept three clean sheets as Roma progressed from Group C, and kept another as the Italians beat Barcelona 3-0 to set up a semi-final with Liverpool.
The 25-year-old eventually conceded seven goals against the Reds over two legs, but Klopp had seen enough to make him the then world’s most expensive goalkeeper at £67m.
