Liverpool will travel to Turkey for their round of 32 game in the Europa league as they were drawn against Beşiktaş earlier today.
The Reds will be playing their away leg in the Atatürk Stadium in Istanbul, a piece of stadia which resonates with fans for the famous Champions League win in 2005.
Beşiktaş won their Europa League group ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, ending unbeaten during all 6 matches, and before that pushed Arsenal close for Champions League qualification. They currently sit top of the Turkish league.
Slaven Bilić will bring his team to Anfield on the 19th of February, and the Reds will travel to Istanbul 7 days later, on the 26th.
It’s fair to say the draw could have been more difficult for Brendan Rodgers and his players, but Beşiktaş is not an easy game by any stretch.
The Reds will be hopeful that they’ll have a full compliment of players come February, and more specifically Daniel Sturridge, who is due back early in the new year.
