Highly-rated teenager Bobby Adekanye has joined Liverpool on a three-year deal, his father has told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The player was signed by Barcelona when he was just 12 but the world football governing body, Fifa, deemed the transfer as illegal.
He was not allowed to play for the Catalan side and was therefore sent out on loan to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
Barca thought that a solution with Fifa would be reached upon the conclusion of the loan but that does not seem to be the case.
This alerted a number of clubs including PSV’s Dutch rivals Ajax the attack-minded player will be plying his trade for the Liverpool academy.
It is also reported by Catalunya Radio that Barcelona would not be seeking any compensation from Liverpool as a way of showing gratitude to the skilful youngster.
He will join another player who left La Masia for Liverpool, Sergio Canos. The Spaniard joined in 2013 and has been flourishing for the Under-21s and Under-18s.
