James Pearce, reporter from the Liverpool Echo, believes that Liverpool will not be pursuing a deal for Stoke City goalkeeper, Jack Butland.
The England international has been relegated at Stoke and will most likely be looking for a new club if he wants to keep his dream of being England’s number one goalkeeper alive.
Pearce had this to say about the rumours arising again:
Earlier in the season, I was told that talk of LFC signing Butland was nonsense and I’m not aware of that position changing. Personally, I don’t think he would be an improvement on Karius.
Liverpool have had their fair share of goalkeeping problems this year but Loris Karius has improved incredibly since the start of the season where he was being shot down by critics after a string of poor performances.

However, Liverpool are likely to let Simon Mignolet leave in the summer so unless they want to go into next season with Danny Ward as second choice, then they will need to sign a replacement for the outgoing Belgian international.
