Raheem Sterling has been named the sixth most valuable player in Europe in a Football Observatory report, above the likes of Luis Suárez, Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez.
It had been suggested that Manchester City are going to open the bidding for Raheem Sterling with a £25 million offer.
However, according to an independent football research company, that bid is well below Sterling’s valuation.
In a report titled ‘Transfer Values and Probabilities’ which was released The Football Observatory, Sterling is valued at a massive £59.7m.
This is sixth-highest transfer value and only behind Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Sergio Aguero.
Meanwhile, Sterling’s team mate Philippe Coutinho is valued at £40.8m, but more surprisingly, striker Daniel Sturridge has an estimated value of just £18.4m, which is less than Jordan Henderson (£25.8m) and Emre Can (£24.8m).
The research takes into consideration a number of factors including age, contract length and international status.
Liverpool will be hoping that any teams looking to make a bid for Sterling will have a read of the report first.
