Liverpool are now considering their options for a new Under-18 manager after Steven Gerrard was appointed as the new boss of Rangers, according to the Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce.

The Liverpool legend has been managing the Under-18s in recent times but was offered the role at Rangers following the dismissal of Graeme Murty earlier this week.

As a result, it leaves the club without a manager at Under-18 level with them keen to make an appointment sooner rather than later.
Former striker Robbie Fowler is thought to be a heavy favourite to take over from Gerrard as the season comes towards a close.
Due to how well the first team have been doing in recent times, it’s been tough for many of the youth team players to force a way through to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
