Robinson claims Ndombele’s fitness is “concerning” ahead of Liverpool clash

Tanguy Ndombele’s fitness is “concerning” former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, ahead of their vital Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Spurs head to Anfield on Wednesday night, with the two sides level on points at the top of the table.

Jose Mourinho will be eyeing up a win against the injury-ravaged champions, in what would be a major statement of intent.

Someone who has found some good form this season is Ndombele, having taken a while to settle in north London.

Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson admitted he is worried about the Frenchman’s inability to finish games:

Ndombele has still only completed two Premier League games since he arrived at Spurs.

He is the club’s record signing but he has only completed two league matches. Yes, Spurs have a great squad but it is concerning.

He has had his critics over the past year but he is coming into his own now.

This is the time now where Ndombele and others need to step up. The festive period is going to be a test for Spurs and if they can get to the new year there or thereabouts then they have got a real chance of winning the league this year.

It is going to be fascinating game on Wednesday and Ndombele could be a key figure. The likes of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are rightly earning many column inches, but he has been impressive in his own right.

Liverpool’s midfield will have to track Ndombele’s movement in the final third, in what could be a key battle in the middle of the pitch.

It is a game that could end up being decided by fine margins, in what is arguably the biggest match of the season so far.
