Roma agree deal to sign Liverpool target Talisca

Liverpool are said to be pursuing a summer deal to sign Anderson Talisca from Benfica but they may have fallen behind Serie A side Roma in the race to sign the Brazilian midfielder.

Turkish news outlet Fanatik, as cited by Turkish Football, claim that Roma have now reached an agreement to sign Talisca in the summer when his two-year loan at Besiktas comes to an end.

Talisca has spent the last two seasons on loan with Turkish side Besiktas and has caught the eye in the Super Lig, netting 33 goals and 10 assists in 71 appearances for the club, including 16 goals and four assists in 38 games this current campaign.

Besiktas have the option to buy Talisca outright in the summer but both the Brazilian attacker and Benfica know they can get a better offer from a bigger European club.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is said to have placed a €40m reserve on the 24-year-old as United considered making a summer move, while Liverpool have rekindled their long-standing interest in Talisca.

The report claims that Roma now have an agreement in place to sign the former Gremio star in the summer, should Besiktas not sign him. Any deal will likely exceed the reported €40m reserve United sounded out for his signature.
