Ronaldo: Liverpool are like the old Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has praised Liverpool’s attack by saying the front three is like that of an old Real Madrid side, as per a report from Marca.

Ronaldo was speaking at the start of the Champions League final week and thought that there were comparisons between the two sides:

Liverpool remind me of the Real Madrid team of a few years ago, with three quick forwards up front.

The front three for the Reds have had an excellent season, led by Mohamed Salah’s scoring exploits as he has broken the Premier League record for goals in a season.

In the Champions League, though, it is Roberto Firmino who leads the way. The two have 10 goals each but the Brazilian’s eight assists are four more than his teammate.

Sadio Mane is not far behind the two either, with nine goals himself.

They are the second, third and fourth top scorers in this seasons competition, with Ronaldo ahead of all three.

He has 15 goals and has scored in every game up until the semi-final. Despite injury worries, he hopes to make an impact this weekend:

I want to feel good on Saturday, I hope to play well and score goals. The most important thing is for the team to win, it doesn’t matter who scores. We want to make history.

matchday.
