Mario Balotelli looks set for a return to Italy, with Sampdoria apparently interested in taking the striker.
According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Sampdoria want to take Balotelli on loan as they can’t match the wages he picks up at Anfield.
The report says that they want to split the wage spend, rumoured to be around £4million per year, with Liverpool.
Balotelli’s Liverpool career never really got going; he scored just one Premier League goal for the Reds and never really made the impact that his talent dictates he should.
The 24-year-old scored 30 times in 54 games for Milan and is said to be open to a return to Serie A.
