Marco Sportiello has insisted that he is happy at Atalanta despite speculation that Liverpool want his services.
Brendan Rodgers is currently on the lookout for a second goalkeeper to challenge current number one Simon Mignolet.
Come the end of the month, Liverpool will have only one recognised goalkeeper as Australian Brad Jones is leaving the club at the end of his current contract.
The 33-year-old has failed to secure a first team place in his five-year spell at the club despite playing for the Reds against Everton during the 2012 FA Cup Semi-final.
But Sportiello is in no rush to leave the club he joined in 2012.
“Liverpool are after me? But I am very happy in Bergamo,” he told Corriere di Bergamo.
He added: “I owe a lot to this city and I have a long contract with the club. Of course in the future I would like the experience of working abroad.”
At the tender age of 23, the Italian has secured a number one spot in the Atalanta team having only missed one game all season for the club.
Atalanta narrowly secured Serie A status by three points last season and Sportiello played an important part.
The Italian club can afford to turn down any offers as their number one goalkeeper has more than four years remaining on his contract.
