A number of Liverpool fans have found it impossible not to laugh at Dejan Lovren’s comical own goal for Zenit Saint Petersburg.
The 31-year-old left Anfield during the summer transfer window, following six years at the club.
Lovren arrived at Liverpool as a highly-rated centre-back from Southampton in 2014, but his Reds career was an up-and-down one.
The Croatian was capable of producing excellent performances at times – he was arguably the Reds’ best player in the 2018 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid – but disaster was never too far away.
Lovren’s ability to be rash made him a frustrating figure in the eyes of many, with a shocking performance away to Tottenham in 2017 summing up his shortcomings.
Having moved to Zenit, the former Liverpool man is still up to his old tricks, scoring an embarrassing own goal at home to Spartak Moscow on Wednesday night, in his side’s 3-1 win.
These Reds fans have been reacting to the moment on Twitter, poking fun at Lovren in the process.
This own goal from Lovren is doing the rounds right now – and it's not one he'll enjoy seeing back too many times ❌ https://t.co/Jqd8XZFWzZ

😂😂😂😂 Oh dear. Considering he didn't know what was behind him, that is an all round very bad decision.
