Liverpool’s hopes of signing Timo Werner from Red Bull Leipzig have been all but ended this week after the striker himself has revealed that he will not be allowed to leave the club in the summer.
The Reds have already struck a deal to sign star Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita in July, but the Bundesliga side are unwilling to allow another of their top performers to leave for Anfield or any other club.
Speaking to Kicker, Werner confirms that he will not be allowed to leave Leipzig this summer and that the club plan on making a number of big signings.
Werner told @kicker today “I know I am not allowed to leave this summer. All the key players will stay at #RBLeipzig, in fact, I believe that we will make two to three key signings this summer.”

The 21-year-old has often spoken about the interest in him and his desire to play for a top European club in the future but he will not realise those dreams this coming summer.
Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been mentioned as clubs interested in signing him.
