Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is plotting a surprise loan swoop for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, according to Football Insider.
As Mourinho prioritises finding an understudy to first-choice Harry Kane this summer, it is believed that Spurs boss is considering a loan move for Brewster, who has been generating interest from multiple Championship and Premier League clubs.
It is claimed that a source at Spurs has revealed that the 20-year-old is on the London club’s wanted list.
Tottenham failed with a bid to sign the striker permanently two years ago, unsure of his future at this stage, Brewster was given assurances at Anfield and he subsequently signed a new long-term deal with the Reds.
Interest in Brewster for next term has been heightened following his successful loan spell with Swansea, where he scored 10 goals in the second half of last season.
The England Under-21 striker is currently with the champions in Austria where Jurgen Klopp steps up pre-season training and it is widely believed the German manager has yet to decide on the youngster’s immediate future.

Should Klopp decide to let Brewster leave on loan again, it seems certain there will be plenty of suitors for him and his imperious finishing abilities, so Spurs have certainly got plenty of completion should their interest materialise into an offer..
However, for Liverpool, loaning Brewster to Spurs would make little sense. Whilst Spurs look unlikely to be challenging for the league title next season, they are still somewhat of a rival.
Furthermore, playing second fiddle to Kane isn’t the ideal situation for Brewster, who will be looking to play regularly if he does head out on loan.
