Following Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Virgil van Dijk has insisted that his sights are now firmly set on beating Everton on Sunday afternoon.
The Dutchman featured as Jurgen Klopp’s men were defeated in France on Wednesday night and spoke to the Liverpool Echo following the clash.
Goals from Juan Bernat and Neymar cancelled out James Milner’s penalty to leave Liverpool with a testing predicament as they look to advance from the group stages of the Champions League.

The Reds face a difficult task against Napoli, in which they will need to win 1-0 or by a clear two-goal margin to qualify for the knockout rounds.
Nevertheless, Liverpool are back in Premier League action this weekend and will be desperate to come out on top in the Merseyside Derby. Previewing the clash, Van Dijk said:
It’s always a fantastic game to play in and obviously for me as well it was my first game for the Reds. Hopefully we’re going to make it a special one again. We need to win, that’s the only thing, and if I can contribute with a goal then it will be fantastic. It’s always good to look forward to such a game.
Klopp’s team will be desperate to secure three points as they bid to continue pushing Manchester City for the top spot.
