Liverpool have been relatively quiet up until this point as the summer transfer window begins to heat up.
Despite clinching central defender Ibrahima Konate early on in the piece, the Reds are yet to further bolster the squad available to Jurgen Klopp.
That could still change in the coming weeks as fringe players begin to complete moves away from Anfield, perhaps allowing further incomings to follow.
One of those coming in could be Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, heavily linked with Liverpool as well as a potential swap deal to Barcelona involving Antoine Griezmann.
The latest development comes today from Spanish newspaper AS, as cited by Sport Witness, claiming that the Spaniard’s agent, Joshua Barnett, has ‘been contacting those in power on Merseyside.

The same report claims Atletico will ‘wait calmly’ as the summer goes on whilst also suggesting the mooted swap deal hasn’t gone all to plan.
Instead, the report tips Liverpool or Manchester United as the ‘most likely’ destination for the 19 times capped Spain man.
Last season Saul made 33 appearances as the capital club lifted the La Liga title for the first time since the midfielder broke into the first team.

Valued at £36million and under contract until 2026 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium (Transfermarkt), it does seem as though a club is going to land a bargain deal this summer.
Available for a reported £43million, Klopp and co would be wise to bite the hands-off Atletico in order to instantly replace Gini Wijnaldum.
An incredibly versatile operator, Saul also boasts an enviable injury record that matches Wijnaldum’s and would further endear Liverpool to the transfer.
