Liverpool central defender Joe Gomez is reportedly on the radar of at least two Premier League clubs.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa are believed to be keen on the 24-year-old following a drastic reduction in game time this season.
Gomez made a first start in 15 months against Norwich City on the weekend – albeit out of position at right-back.
According to a report from The Athletic, as cited on Twitter, the Englishman would be a sought after commodity this summer.
Joe Gomez ended a 468-day wait for a #PL start but one game does not change the bigger picture – the #LFC defender is approaching a crossroads.

The report claims that Newcastle and Aston Villa – managed by Steven Gerrard – would be ‘near the front of the queue’ to sign the 11-cap England man.
So far this season Gomez has played just 530 minutes across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Valued at £22.5million and under contract until 2024 (Transfermarkt), unsurprisingly the Reds are reluctant to sell a player of such previous importance.
The one-time favoured partner to Virgil van Dijk, injuries, an upturn in fortunes for Joel Matip and the signing of Ibrahima Konate have seen the ace fall down the pecking order.
However, already an experienced operator of 134 Liverpool outings, the club will feel there is more than enough water under the bride to justify keeping faith in Gomez.
