Virals: Journalist claims ‘agreement could be reached’ for Divock Origi

Liverpool forward Divock Origi is reportedly being targetted by Serie A club Napoli ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old has remained on the periphery of matters at Anfield despite having a continued impact when called upon.

Set to become a free agent at the end of the season should a one-year extension not be triggered, this summer could bring the end of the Belgian’s spell on Merseyside.

According to Italian journalist Paolo Esposito (via Area Napoli), as cited by ThinkLFCTV on Twitter, there is a strong interest from Italy.

So far this season the 31-cap ace has scored five times and provided three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £10.8million (Transfermarkt), allowing the Belgian to leave on a free would be a blow to the club financially.

However, few could argue that the time has come to part ways with the mercurial frontman and although there may very well be yet another big moment in store between now and the end of the season, this summer will surely see Origi move on.

Ideally, the one-year extension would indeed be triggered and the Reds could at least get a likely small fee for the ex-Lille man.
