Virals: Liverpool ‘closing in’ on Newcastle United starlet Bobby Clark

Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign Newcastle United prospect Bobby Clark.

The Reds have been installed frontrunners ahead of interest from Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in recent months.

Son of Magpies legend Lee Clark, the 16-year-old sensation has been involved at youth level for both club and country.

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, as cited by Paul Gorst on Twitter, the Anfield club could be set to land the teenager.

The report claims the move for Clark is likely to be ‘completed soon’ as Liverpool continue the policy of signing talented youngsters

Described as the Toon club’s ‘best schoolboy prospect’ in 2019, the winger made a debut aged 14 in the U18 Premier League.

Having landed Calum Scanlon, Kaide Gordon and Marcelo Pitaluga in the last 12 months, there is a clear objective to strengthen the youth ranks and ultimately the prospects at the club.

Clark follows the likes of Harvey Elliott in making the move to Merseyside in order to continue to develop under the excellent auspice of the Reds’ academy.

Whilst little is known of the teenager’s ability, the Newcastle Chronicle stated that the ‘exciting’ ace scored ‘goals galore’ for the Newcastle Under 15s.

Back to more immediate first-team matters, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping signings in the way of senior options are also forthcoming as the side prepare to face Mainz 05 this afternoon in Austria.
