Liverpool are reportedly considering a ‘late swoop’ for Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old Dane this summer alongside interest from Leeds United, Tottenham and Juventus more recently.
Despite the unlikely star of the summer’s European Championships joining up with the senior national side for upcoming World Cup qualifier action, there could still be time for a move.
That’s according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb (via JuveFC), as cited on Twitter, claiming Liverpool are still in the frame.

The report states that the Anfield club have been ‘watching’ the eight-times capped ace and could be preparing to ‘test the resolve’ of the Serie A side.
Damsgaard has made three appearances already this term in Italy, backing up six-goal contributions in 35 league outings last season.

Given the reported £34million price tag following an impressive Euro 2020 campaign, any late move would have to surpass the £18million market value placed on the talented Dane.
Described as a player with a ‘big future’ by Premier League-winning manager Claudio Ranieri, Damsgaard’s versatility would be hugely beneficial to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Capable of operating from a deeper role as well as part of the front three, any late move would surely be welcomed from Klopites unanimously as many call for attacking reinforcements.
Albeit increasingy difficult as time runs out, January’s last ditch move for Ozan Kabak proves transfers can still be completed regardless of location.
