Liverpool are believed to be ‘crazy’ for the signing of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong.
The 24-year-old Dutchman has reportedly been placed on the transfer list at the Camp Nou as the Catalan giants look to raise funds for their own targets.
Since arriving for £65million in 2019 (BBC), De Jong has flattered to deceive since becoming a Barca player.
Now, according to a report from SPORT, as cited by Sport Witness, both Liverpool and Bayern Munich are desperate to land the ace.

The report claims that there are ‘important offers’ on the table for the 38-cap former Ajax man who is ‘not happy’ at Barcelona.
So far this season the man hailed as ‘extraordinary’ by Xavi has scored once and provided two assists in 18 appearances.

Valued at an eye-watering £81million and under contract in Spain until 2026 (Transfermarkt), any deal for De Jong would likely push the Anfield club to break their record transfer expenditure of £76.19million for Virgil van Dijk.
Supremely talented and at one point seemingly with the world at his feet, the Dutchman would be a superb addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Predominantly an out and out central midfielder, De Jong would be hoping to challenge for a starting berth in place of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho or Thiago from the outset.
Albeit Barcelona appear reticent to lose such a prodigious talent, the club are said to need a ‘significant’ sale having missed out on Champions League knockout football.
In a bizarre turn of events, Liverpool may just be the club to steal a top player from the Catalans.
