Liverpool have reportedly held ‘exploratory talks’ regarding a possible deal for PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.
The 22-year-old is highly rated in Holland and has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Capped at the senior international level, Gakpo has earned an outstanding 7.63 average Sofascore rating from 15 Eredevise outings in 2021/22 – the third highest in the Dutch top-flight.
According to a report from Voetbal International, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter, the Reds have already initiated contact for the talented youngster.

The report claims that the four-cap starlet is ‘about to extend his contract with PSV until 2026’ but there is a ‘good chance’ of a summer departure.
This season Gakpo – who ‘has everything’ according to Theo Janssen – has scored 10 times and registered 11 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Possessing an abundance of impressive attacking attributes and predominantly operating from a left-wing role, the talented ace looks to have the capabilities of replacing Sadio Mane in the long term.
