Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona SC full-back Byron Castillo as an understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 23-year-old Ecuador international currently plies his trade in the South American nation and is believed to have attracted admiration from the Reds and Leicester City.
Jurgen Klopp currently has Neco Williams as the recognised backup right-back option but the youngster has flourished in more advanced positions for Wales recently.
According to a report from Bolavip, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, Liverpool are keen on Castillo.
The report claims that Boca Juniors and Flamengo are also interested in the six-cap starlet although Barcelona SC are unwilling to ‘let him out at any price’.
Last season Castillo scored three and assisted four goals in 39 appearances across all competitions – as well as being particularly impressive for Ecuador in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Signing a reliable right-back to supplement Alexander-Arnold, much like the role Kostas Tsimikas has occupied on the left-hand side, is an important position to fill in Klopp’s squad.
Neither Williams nor Conor Bradley have truly cemented themselves as trustworthy understudies as of yet and the German manager often turns to James Milner to fill the void.
Valued at just £720,000 (Transfermarkt), Castillo would likely represent an affordable option even if it meant paying over the odds to persuade his current employers to sell.
