Virals: Liverpool winger Harry Wilson a target for Swansea City

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson is reportedly wanted by Championship club Swansea City this summer.

The Welshman spent last season on loan at Cardiff City and it is expected the Anfield club will look for a permanent suitor this time around.

Interest in the 24-year-old has been forthcoming as Benfica, Brentford, Fulham and West Brom were all linked in recent weeks.

Now, a fresh report from The Sunday People (Print Edition; page 58), as cited by Alan Nixon on Twitter, has claimed the Welsh club are keen on a loan swoop.

This isn’t the first time the Swans have shown an interest in the Wrexham-born starlet, losing out to arch-rivals Cardiff City last October.

Capped on 29 occasions at senior level by Wales, Wilson has become an established part of the international setup whilst struggling to break through on Merseyside.

Since coming through the youth ranks with the Reds, the winger has had spells with Hull City, Derby County and Bournemouth before a seven-goal and 12 assist campaign in 2020/21.

Valued at £15.3million and under contract until 2023 at Anfield (Transfermarkt), Liverpool would surely be reticent to sanction yet another loan departure this summer.

Whilst Swansea hoping to loan the Welshman, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his own squad options, cashing in on the likes of Wilson is a necessity during this window.

As the Reds hold out for a mooted £15million valuation, perhaps structuring a deal on agreeable terms could be the best bet in order to at least receive a worthwhile sum for the ace.
