Liverpool have been dealt a blow in any late pursuit of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr this summer.
The Reds have been credited with a long-standing admiration in the 23-year-old and were reportedly lining up a late swoop with the Senegal international keen on the idea.
However, those reports now appear to have been wide of the mark as the Hornets issue a steadfast stance on their prized asset.
That’s according to a fresh report from the Watford Observer, as cited by WD18 on Twitter, claiming that there is no desire from club or player to make a move happen.

Sarr played a pivotal role in helping Watford earn promotion back to the Premier League last season – scoring 13 goals and adding 10 assists in 39 Championship outings.
The 34 times capped star has also made a lively start to the new campaign with a goal in a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa.

We may never discover whether or not Liverpool were indeed readying a £40million bid for the versatile forward.
But one thing seems certain, there is a genuine interest from Anfield in the Watford ace, having seemingly been close to making the signing last summer before landing Diogo Jota.
Capable of playing across the frontline, Sarr would represent the ideal backup in Jurgen Klopp’s squad despite being another likely to represent Senegal alongside Sadio Mane at AFCON in 2022.
Although a deal may be difficult, Liverpool would be wise to test the waters at a sensible price.
