Virgil van Dijk has reassured Liverpool fans after his side failed to capitalise on Manchester City’s loss as they drew 1-1 with Leicester City at Anfield.
The draw still sees the Reds extend the gap ahead of second placed City, as they stretched their lead at the top of the table to five points.
And according to The Mirror, the centre-back has told fans “there is no need to panic” after last night’s draw, despite Liverpool putting in an under-par performance. The Dutchman said:
Everyone wants to win so bad and that’s what we want as well but sometimes you need to be very patient. We want everyone to cheer us on and keep pushing even if we have tough moments, even if we’re 1-0 down or maybe more.

Sadio Mane scored an early goal as Liverpool’s strong start made it seem like they would put themselves well clear of City at the top of the table, but after conceding late in first-half stoppage time and failing to regain their advantage in the second chunk of 45, fans became agitated.
But Van Dijk insists there is no need to worry, as his side prepare for upcoming games against West Ham and Bournemouth.
