West Ham United are keen on bringing Liverpool’s Fabio Borini to Liverpool, according to Jack De Menezes of The Independent.
However, the Reds are in a dilemma as they are also entertaining the idea of using the Italian striker as part of a deal to sign Christian Benteke.
Benteke has long been a target for Liverpool and with Villa refusing to lower the asking price, Brendan Rodgers may be forced to use Borini in a cash-plus-player deal.
The Hammers, who have appointed Slaven Bilic as their new manager, are seeking new signings to strengthen their squad as they prepare for an Europa League campaign. They have already signed Pedro Obiang and Dimitri Payet.
Borini’s departure from Anfield seems inevitable as his agent has recently stated that the 24-year-old felt like a ‘caged lion’ at Liverpool last season.
Borini was one of Rodgers’ first signing when he joined from Roma in 2012 but he has failed to hit the ground running and was loaned out to Sunderland the season before last.
