‘Will want’ – Milos Kerkez provides injury update on key Liverpool player

Liverpool will take on LASK in the UEFA Champions League tomorrow and could be without a handful of key players.

While Federico Chiesa made his first appearance of the season vs Manchester City, the likes of Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike remain out.

On Sunday, Liverpool were also without Dom Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak, which was a body blow for the club.

And now, Milos Kerkez has provided an update on his Hungarian teammate, who has been virtually indispensable for Liverpool over the past 14 months.

Dom Szoboszlai could return soon for Liverpool

Szoboszlai missed out on Sunday due to a minor hamstring problem and will not be risked vs LASK tomorrow.

And Kerkez believes it is still too soon to confirm whether he will be back to face Brentford next week.

“I don’t know if he is fit for Saturday,” said the Liverpool defender at his pre-match press conference.

“You’ll have to ask the gaffer that. I know Dom and he doesn’t like to be out long. Knowing him, he wants to play every game and will want to play Saturday.”

Szoboszlai is too valuable for Liverpool, so the Reds will hope he makes a swift return to the team. In the meantime, the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Trey Nyoni are expected to fill in for him in the centre of the park.
