On this day in 2006: Kuyt makes LFC debut – what were his 7 biggest goals?

On August 26th, 2006, Liverpool’s new signing Dirk Kuyt made his debut for the Reds.

Brought in for £9 million from Feyenoord, the Dutchman was a high-profile arrival, with much expected from him in front of goal.

Kuyt didn’t score on the day that he made his Liverpool bow, in a 2-1 win at home to West Ham, but what followed was a Reds career that saw 71 goals scored in 285 appearances.

Rafa Benitez changed him from a striker to a hugely effective right-sided player, where his work-rate, team ethic and end product all stood out.

One of Liverpool’s most popular players of the 2000s, Kuyt was a cult hero in many ways, but also a top player whose big-game mentality was arguably second to only Steven Gerrard at the time.

The question is: what were Kuyt’s best and biggest goals in a Reds shirt?
